Keeping Records

The online tool keeps copies of all versions of a paper and of the correspondence between yourself and the author.

However, when drafting the preliminary decision letter, it is good to do this locally and then cut and paste your input into the template provided. You may also want to save a copy of the edited template. The reason is that sometimes preliminary decisions are not approved. In this case, the draft letter is not kept by the tool.

Letterhead

Using the online tool, the main form of correspondence is via email. In the signature of the email, you should indicate that you are an Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology.

Security

It is important that we protect information during the review process. As the process is conducted using an online peer review tool, the following guidelines are recommended.

If you leave the office while still logged onto the tool, it is recommended that you either use a screen saver with password protection or lock your office.

After finishing using the tool, it is recommended that you exit the tool and ensure that others cannot use the tool should you leave your computer unattended. For example, you can erase the history of your web browser, so that the browser cannot be used later to return to the tool without logging in.

The Transactions on Vehicular Technology are published by the IEEE and sponsored by VTS
