Mandatory Overlength Page Charge:
To offset the cost of publishing the Transactions,
for all papers submitted in 2020 or later, the Board of Governors of the Vehicular Technology Society
implements a mandatory page charge of US$220.00 for
each Transactions page exceeding
ten printed pages for regular papers and
US$220.00 for
each Transactions page exceeding
five printed pages for correspondence papers.
For papers submitted before 2020, the mandatory page charge is US$220.00 for
each Transactions page exceeding
eight printed pages for regular papers and
US$220.00 for
each Transactions page exceeding
five printed pages for correspondence papers.
Voluntary Page Charge:
After a manuscript has been accepted for publication,
the author's company or institution will be requested to pay
a charge of US$110 per printed page to cover
part of the cost of publication.
This voluntary page charge is
not obligatory nor is its payment a prerequisite for publication;
however,
the author(s) should strongly encourage his or her employer,
or institution, to honor this payment in order to offset some
of
the expenses incurred in publication. The cost of publishing
and giving the author's work a distribution comparable to
that of
this Transactions would be far more costly to the
employer, or author, than the page charge requested.r
Self-employed authors should also seriously conside
honor the page charge; without this means of disseminating
their work, they may find it very costly and much more difficult
to achieve recognition through publication. Detailed instruction
will accompany the page proofs.
